How to Identify the Correct Motorcycle Camshaft for Wholesale Orders

Ordering motorcycle camshafts in wholesale quantities requires more than matching a product by appearance. Two camshafts may look similar but differ in journal diameter, lobe profile, overall length, gear interface, oil-hole position, or timing design. A wrong match can create installation problems, returns, and unnecessary shipping costs.

This guide explains the information importers, distributors, and motorcycle-parts wholesalers should prepare before requesting a quotation from a camshaft manufacturer.

1. Start With the Motorcycle Brand and Model

Provide the motorcycle brand, complete model name, engine displacement, and production year when known. Model names can vary between countries, so the market or destination country is also useful. Do not rely on a shortened model name alone.

2. Confirm the Engine Code

The engine code is often more reliable than the motorcycle model because one model family may use different engines. It may be stamped on the engine case, shown on the original packaging, or listed in the parts catalogue. Send a clear photo if the code is difficult to read.

3. Supply the OEM or Reference Number

An OEM number, supplier reference, or catalogue code gives the factory another way to check the application. Please include every number printed on the old packaging or product. Reference numbers are used for identification only; applicable trademarks belong to their respective owners.

4. Send Clear Product Photos

Photograph the complete camshaft from both sides and include close-ups of the lobes, journals, gear or sprocket interface, oil holes, and both ends. Place a ruler beside the part where possible. Photos help eliminate obvious mismatches before detailed measurements are checked.

5. Check the Critical Dimensions

For an accurate comparison, confirm the overall length, journal diameters, lobe width and height, shaft diameter, end shape, gear dimensions, and oil-hole position. A drawing is ideal. When no drawing is available, a physical sample can be used for confirmation after the initial review.

6. State the Required Quantity

Wholesale pricing depends on quantity, tooling requirements, material, surface treatment, packaging, and order mix. HANLUNTE focuses on B2B supply with a typical minimum order quantity of 200 pieces. For a mixed-product enquiry, provide the quantity required for each reference.

7. Explain the Quality and Packaging Requirements

Tell the supplier whether you need standard wholesale packing, private labels, branded boxes, barcode labels, or special corrosion protection. If your market has specific inspection or documentation requirements, state them before production begins.
